Mestalla brimming with emotions running high
Relive the emotional events that took place in the run-up to Valencia CF-Real Betis to pay tribute to the victims and those affected by the tragic flash floods
Daniel Wass, the scorer of the opening goal in the win over Granada CF, spoke to Movistar+ LaLiga in a flash interview to assess the Matchday 13 contest, highlighting the strength shown by the team in victory.
"These three points before the international break are very important. This has been a big week, with three wins over RCD Espanyol, LOSC Lille and now Granada CF," he explained.
Asked about the goal that was ruled out by VAR, Wass commented that "VAR is part of football, but we should focus on the strength of the team. We've played a lot of games and we've had injuries. This is a great team, with a lot of strength and a lot of confidence. Now we have the international break, so we're going to rest up and return even stronger."
Wass' goal was his first of the season, and he was pleased to have opened his account.
"I'm very happy with my first goal. I always play for the team, whatever my position. I'm pleased that I got to play in the middle with Parejo and help the team out with a goal."
"We're playing a lot of games and have had few days to rest. Injuries are part of football but we are getting through it. For example, Manu Vallejo started at Mestalla for the first time and helped us by doing a great job. Every player is bringing energy to the team," he said, praising the squad.
"We're happy to have 20 points before the international break. Now we have to rest, as after we return there will be many important games."
